New FLGS

A new FLGS opened close by our house a few weeks ago, and I’m very happy to have found another store to browse.

Total Escape Games has a great selection of games. They have board games for family game nights, as well as the rudiments of our hobby, and they have a good selection of RPG books, dice, dice bags and other miscellanea. Plus there are tables in the back for games, and a small private room.
Steven Higgins, the owner, has done a great job of making it a bright, friendly environment. I was instantly comfortable the moment I walked in the store the first time… none of that awkward “girl out of place in a game store” feeling.
So for those of you in the Broomfield area, if you haven’t been already, I recommend checking out Total Escape Games.

I’m so happy you posted this. I saw this store open up a few weeks ago, but I just assumed it was another of these LAN PC gaming emporiums (we’ve had several such things sprout up and then go out of business in Broomfield). I’m glad to hear they sell actual physical games! Just yesterday, as I drove by the store on my way home from work, I saw a gaggle of maybe 6 to 8 teens headed into the place. So at first glance it seems popular!

Thanks for the heads up! I’m in Louisville (just up the road), so I’ll definitely check it out.

Speaking of local stores, have you been to Black & Read, down in Arvada?

The store is a bit of a mess, but they have a huge RPG selection.

@Todd: Both times I've stopped in, there have been other gamers there. So far, it's been a nice place to shop.

@Gorthmog: I LOVE Black & Read!! Todd recommended it to Dante & I a few weeks ago, and we have stopped in several times. It is a mess, but it's that wonderful kind of mess where you just KNOW you're going to find something incredible. 🙂

I stopped by Total Escape Games yesterday on my way home from work. Nobody was there except the owner. I agree it’s a nice looking place, and I like how he’s got lots of gaming tables in back for board games and RPGs and whatever, PLUS soft drinks and snacks. The selection looked pretty complete, and I was surprised to see that he even carries Traveller and Star Fleet Battles, both of which I haven’t played in nearly 20 years.
