Rather, I absolutely loved the lyrical, intertwining language of it. Tolkien grabs every grammatical rule I've ever heard of, breaks it in twain, and then recombines the pieces into something somehow more beautiful than the original whole. It's as if he reinvented the English language just for those stories. What really interested me in the Silmarillion is not the character development or the epic stories.
